Venezuela is so poor now

An old man walks into a grocery store in Caracas. After waiting patiently in line, he asks the shopkeeper for a container of cooking oil, a jug of milk and, a quarter kilo of coffee. The clerk apologizes, saying that all three items are out of stock, and the disappointed patron walks off. Overhearing this exchange, the next person in line remarks to the proprietor: “Cooking oil? Milk? That stupid old man, he must be crazy.” The storekeeper considers this a moment and responds: “Yes, but what a remarkable memory!”

Maduro is in danger of losing his head, literally. That place is a tinder box. They'll get frick all for relief in the near future either. Their economy is completely reliant on oil.

They are a huge producer of oil with no buyers. The oil they produce is of poor quality.

If you can, buy property there soon. It's not like this downturn will be forever.

Along with the oil price drops, they are experiencing a drought. Most of their electricity is hydroelectric and there is little water to run through the dam.
