What are some vacation destinations you went to, only to regret going for whatever reason.

I'm considering taking a short 3-day vacation trip somewhere so this came to mind.

Don't take a cruise that stops in Progresso.

Ambergris Cay. Did not enjoy it.

St. Maarten. We should have continued right on to St. Barths or Anguilla as both were vastly superior. I will say that if you are in your 20's and love to party there is probably no place better for you than the Dutch side of St. Maarten.

One summer our beach vacation to Florida got canceled at the last minute due to a possible hurricane, so we went west to Galveston. It was ok, but I have no desire to ever go back there. Beach was gross.

West side of the Mississippi River. All the stuff that comes out of the Mississippi River goes west to Louisiana and Texas gulf coasts. Not to mention the stuff that the oil industry drops from platforms and cre boats.

Destin was probably the most boring vacation I had ever been on. You can only do the beach so many times on a vacation before being bored to death.

I actually prefer a the beach and doing nothing.... I'm anti doing stuff at the beach other than sitting on the beach all day. If I'm going shopping, putt putt, amusement parking, I might as well go to a city...

This is true.

St. Barts has just as much partying, it's just higher end nightlife fwiw.

That's when you go to bars, restaurants, take the lady shopping, go ziplining, take the kids to the water park or amusement park, etc, etc.

Branson, Missouri - unless you are a Baptist preacher, don't go. Gospel music on top of Gospel music with a little inspirational country mixed in.

What did you dislike about St. Maarten and what did you like so much about the other two?

I've never been to any of them, but am wanting to take the wife in the next year or two down that way.

this. Why go to the beach and then turn around and do all the stuff you can do anywhere else? If you get bored at the beach and need all of this other stimulation then you are a boring person imo.

St. Barts is out of pretty much everyones price range. That's not to say it isn't doable for the same price as St. Maarten, but it wouldn't be fun that way.

St. Barts is meant to be the luxury 5 star dining, hollywood nightlife scene, etc. island of the Caribbean.
