We had the generator out last weekend, just giving it a trial run.

I'm ready for a storm. Things have been too docile around here.

I feel like there is no way I'm getting to Jamaica from Houston, enjoying it storm free, and getting home Week after next.

Not necessarily. Anyone that is telling you that they know where this going yet is lying. It's simply too early at this point, just like every single system this far out. By Saturday morning, we will have a lot better idea. How long are you staying?

BTW, If you had to ask me right now if the Bahamas were going to get hit, I'd say that depending on the placement of the trough in the northeast, that will ultimately determine if it plows over the Bahamas or just skirts them.

I said Mexico because Its started way TO low. High pressure will either pull it apart or send it south..... IMO........

Staying until Aug 4th.. No major storms that way so far and the week I plan to go one pops up.

Hope it turns south some and stays away.

I'm gonna have to start calling you PEEJ like everyone else, instead of Dukke v.

I don't think that he's latitudaly (my own made up word) challenged at this point, though I agree that in the beginning he formed low. I don't think he's going to be a heavy hitter unless something changes, but I could see a Cat 1 if he's able to clear out the SAL in front of him efficiently.

Thank you.

I don't disagree. After watching systems develop, it's possible to recognize patterns and certain atmospheric conditions that you know will influence a system's path. Even though when I first joined I was abrasive, I try to never diminish anyone's thoughts on a system. We don't learn that way.

People that go to school for this for 4+ years and get paid to do this can't track this thing yet..but because you watch Jim Cantore you think you're a meteorologist

This has been an interesting system up to this point and I surely wouldn't want my forecast of this one to be included in my 4th quarter review

The GFS has been performing much better than the Euro so far with this system and the NHC seems to be going all in with the GFS at this point. In the newest discussion they are going higher than pretty much all intensity forecast other than the SHIPS.

The 12z Euro, 18z experimental HWRF both just kind of fizzle the system out as it heads west and the 18z GEFS is split b/w stronger out to sea and weaker / west solutions. There just doesn't seem like a lot of support for the stronger solution right now.
