Update: Apparently the owner has come out publicly, saying the drone was flying 200+ ft high and moving quickly, thus the shooter is lying about the drone's behavior, which can be proven by the drones computer.

Not buying it. First off that's a hell of a shot. Second Rage dad had time to go inside, go to wherever he stores his guns, grab said gun, do back outside. Visually acquire target. Then shoot it down. That't a lot of stuff to be doing in a short period of time it would take a drone to fly past your yard if you were "flying quickly"

The owner seemed convincing enough on the news...

What say you? If he's telling the truth, sounds pretty justified. Definitely something to be addressed to get the law up to speed with technology. And Pervs.

I think pretty clearly, I shouldn't have to put up with someone flying a drone with a camera over my house if my daughters are in the pool. Or, really, PERIOD.

The people who confronted him as the "SOB who shot their drone" are the SOBs.

What kind of fricktard thinks what they were doing was "OK"?

The drone is flying over quickly and at almost 70 yards at this guy has time to run inside, grab his shotgun, come back out and shoot it down at that distance?!? Yea that doesn't add up.

Exactly. All you guys saying no big deal how would you feel if some bearded dude was peeking over your fence with binoculars trained on your wife/daughter?

Because privacy is becoming an antique, and there are still civilized adults in this country who want to protect their family and their property. Excuse those people for getting in the way of your progress.

Yup.... Stuff isn't adding up. That being said a neighbor of my buddy's dad (my buddy knows the neighbor) was outside with his wife's md daughter and someone was flying his drone over his house and hovering with a camera. Ol boy went inside got his shotgun and dusted the drone.
Owner comes over and confronts him, dude tells him you fly it over my house while my wife and kids are outside again I'm shooting the drone again and then whippin your arse. It's in Acadia parish so things are a tad different I guess, but it was in a neighborhood.
