It varies state to state but look it up it's generally around 200' with exceptions for ariel easements.

So is the issue just shooting someone's private property? Regardless of whose land it was on?

Would there still be an issue if the guy was driving around some expensive RC car and it was shot up?

I would need to know more. Is this guy's property inside the city limits? Then no.

Home invasions are okay then?

Didn't him getting arrested show that he didn't "have every right to do what he did"?

You can't destroy someone's property just because they may be trespassing.

Are you comparing a drone flying 100' above someone's house to actual people entering your house without permission?

I say the

Hillview Police
don't have enough to do.

The guy posed no threat, the gun was put away by the time they arrived, but they had to "show force".

Numbnutted local yokels.

Most likely I would try to follow it back to its origin and speak to the owner about its intentions, at least before I opened fire

Castle doctrine would get you killed if you followed it back to the owners house.

Pretty sure that it does not vary state to state since that is controlled by the FAA which is a federal agency.

Or tell your 16 year old daughter to flash the drone and have the nerd busted for child porn.

I say on top of shooting down the drone, he's justified to kick this pervert's arse for creeping on his wife and daughters.

No, I wasn't. I was addressing the point that discharging a firearm on your property is not absolutely illegal.

But actually, now that you bring up your strawman, we do have Peeping Tom laws in this country. A high powered lens could be used to invade on citizens' privacy. I hope the government is able to regulate the frick out of this.

You park in the wrong driveway and everyone knows the homeowner can blow your vehicle up. Castle doctrine, dipshit.

I remember when they didn't have HD camcorders attached to them which made them even less scary.
