That area all went up in flames in literally a hour tops. A power line went down sparks flew and that's how that specific fire started is what i have been hearing. I have a feeling the death toll is going to just continue to rise because they haven't been to half the area that has burned. Lots of people I work with were on call for the fire being volunteer firemen and they said there was literally nothing they could do because there were 14 different fires in pigeon forge Gatlinburg and wears valley alone. Many of these were created the same way with transformers or powerlines going down.

Also the 3 they found aren't his wife and kids. Those 3 that were found today were off Campbell rd he lived on ski mountain if I'm not mistaken I may be wrong but I think that is what his interview on wbir said yesterday afternoon

here was a search team at his residence this afternoon. that's not good...

Yeah, unfortunately I agree. Some are saying that the 3 bodies were found in Chalet Village, which is where his family was last seen.

ETA - It seems there are conflicting reports then. Still holding out hope.

I feel bad for him because likely his wife and children are dead . But I am also upset with him for putting them in a situation in an evacuation zone with a fire on the loose with NO vehicle to use to escape.

You have no clue of the circumstances. Why don't you STFU.

an update said that the latest 3 were found in North Chalet and all found at the same residence and it coincide with the time that a special search team was looking for them. It sounds like it likely is them (I pray it is not but regardless those 3 are somebody's loved ones so it is still horrible)

I have been scouring the internet looking for the latest on this family bit it has been 48 hours since he last talked to his wife. This is so sad

IF the were found in Chalet Village, then that is not his home. He lived a couple of miles away from there.

Nothing posted on his FB page since before noon today.

Wiley Oakley Drive and Campbell Lead Road do intersect each other, and it is west of 421 and 321. So I'm not sure what to think here. But like other posters said, regardless of who they are, they are somebody's family. Sad situation regardless.

I agree and didn't mean to sound downing on the fact people died. Its really been surreal here the past week. When you see friends posting on facebook saying they can't get in touch with loved ones it makes you think how lucky you have it right now. The crazy thing about this whole situation is they still don't know how many people are missing. They set up a hotline today through tema if you haven't heard from people you normally do or seen people you normally see since the fire you are suggested to report it there now.

Not at all, man. You didn't come across that way. I know it has to be frustrating to have people you know affected. A friend of mine was there a couple days ago and had to evacuate. She had videos posted where the fire was completely surrounding her condo, and it was nerve wracking for friends of hers to know if she made it out ok. Luckily she did and let people know later that night. It's just a helpless feeling right now for a lot of people.

Hoping for a miracle...seriously...but I'm going to be really honest and post what we are are secretly thinking:

Likelihood the wife and girls are alive is remote. If they had gotten out, the first thing they would've done is call him using their phone or someone else's phone. If they had gotten out he would know by now.

This won't have a good ending. Sad. Hard to think about especially as a husband and father.

GFY.
He was in an evacuation zone -Fact

He and his son drove off in the only family vehicle, leaving the wife and daughters at home with no car-Fact

There were multiple fires all around - Fact

Those are the circumstances that I was talking about.

Furthermore, i am a first responder, on a fire dept and have had to deal with recovering dead bodies, at accidents/fires trying to save people/property and running shelters. So yeah, I kinda DO know what i am talking about. I have had to deal with picking pieces of dead children and telling their families. It fricking sucks and still haunts me to know what i have seen.

Oh and once again - GFY

It's beyond sad. And it's easy to think of what he should have done after the fact but when things were hitting the fan he made a bad judgment call. So easy to say after the fact. He'll live with it forever and that's really tough.

This is on Facebook.

JayDee Niles added 3 new photos — with Michael Reed.

*UPDATE 6:00pm 11/30:
I know you are all as anxious as I am to hear that the Reeds have been reunited, but I can't share anything new about what is going on. He has been out of contact with many today. I'm sure he is with his son communicating with authorities to locate Constance and the girls. Please be patient in requesting information and understand there are many, many people assisting him with the search. Also, I would like to address the comments regarding recovered bodies. There has been NO confirmation that they are the Reed ladies, so I am asking that you all stay hopeful for their safe return. Please continue to pray for them as well as the many other people displaced. Thanks to the first responders and the many volunteers working to improve conditions. As always, I'll update as more information is shared.

This is a terribly sad story. I'm hoping there is a happy ending, but it seems unlikely at this point. I hope I am wrong. Couldn't imagine anything worse than what this family is going through.

Yeah, in this scenario, everyone stays together. No way I leave any of my family behind.
