It doesn't matter if the firefighter had honest intentions or not.

It doesn't matter if this whole situation was overinflated.

Editing to add: It doesn't matter if an innocent firefighter lost his job and reputation.

Someone, somewhere is a victim of food-based racism as we speak.

If the attention payed to this non-event gives that victim the courage to speak out, it was worth it.
