Here's that famous TD double standard.

It's OK to wish for killing millions in Miami but if you mention Katrina...

BTW, I've never made fun of Katrina because folks dying just isn't funny to me.

man you really need to calm down. this storm has as close to zero potential to develop into a major hurricane as you can get

eta: that's really something I shouldn't say as a forecaster but frick it I'm saying it anyway

Wow what a difference a day makes. Does wind sheer really change that quickly though? Last night around 11pm they were predicting a category 1 hurricane by the weekend and for it the travel up the east coast of Florida. Now this morning they're saying its lucky to maintain tropical storm status. All this in a matter of hours lol.

Geeze Francis, it was a joke. Heck I have been known to wear jorts here and there myself (but never cut offs ).

Humor - learn it love it live it.

Right, but the wind shear, does it change directions quickly? From my understanding Erika was going to avoid the harsh wind shear that caused Danny to dissipate. But this morning they're saying intense wind shear has arrived..?

I think it's easy to poke fun at something that hasn't happened yet, but when it's real, all joking ends.
When the tornadoes ripped through Tuscaloosa in 2011, even most Bama haters genuinely offered condolences to the residents of T Town.
Any spiteful comedy attempts like ,"wish Saban had been blown away" were quickly struck down.
I don't think anyone here really wants someone to die in a hurricane.

the wind shear in the east caribbean is typically worse than surrounding areas, and right now is no exception. It was originally forecast to avoid the area.

The wind is blowing here about 30mph and its been raining most of the night. Nothing serious now. Looks like we could get some rain today. Been here 7 days and it did not rain a drop until last night

I need a probability of ruination my redneck riviera trip starting Wednesday next week. I've shelled out like $500 for a condo and if it rains, I'll be devastated.
