United States is woefully behind in architecture
Posted by dreaux on 10/21/14 at 11:33 am19
Saudi Arabia is building a 3,280' high rise city building. America for years has been falling behind. The one chance we had...we blew it. One Trade Center is imo ugly. Very ugly compared to any of the other top five skyscrapers in the world. Kingdom Tower is built in Jeddah Saudi Arabia and is considerably taller then the Burj in Dubai. This fricker is a Km high. Should be noted that a Chicago firm designed the behemoth..hehehe
However...it is still dwarfed by a proposed Dubai city tower if it is ever built...1.5 miles high..400 floors..
Meanwhile...here is our pride and joy...
the spire is so damn ugly..building has zero imagination. Sucks for the number 1 spot of capitalism.
Love this building...3rd tallest
of course the tallest building completed and standing as of now...
sorry for the rant...i just find it amazing that we suck so bad...

We don't measure our selves by height... We measure by weight.

it's not bad..just think they could have done better. I am going to guess that the trend for the future will be entire city's enclosed in skyscrapers and compound structures.
This list is also a tribute to some amazing architectural design

The U.S. doesn't feel the need to get involved in a pen...err building measuring contest.

Those buildings look like something on Coruscant.

I don't really give a shite about having tall buildings, but the US is definitively behind when it comes to creative architecture in mid-high rise buildings.
