A friend of mine who he and his wife are AD USAF just got really screwed by an unfair search and seizure. They were out on the town and got really hammered. They had a wonderful evening and were coming back on base and they were in a cab. They did everything right. But their cab was told to pullover for an inspection. They were then told they were selected for random drug testing and forced to piss for a drug test. His wife was the drunker of the two. She blew a gasket. They sent the cab away due to the cost of having it wait. At the end they were told to walk home. Very unfair if you asked me.

Our service men and women can be treated like dirt bags and it's okay I guess? Just really pisses me off they did everything right and got hosed. Her First Shirt warned her not to ever have another episode like that again. Damn! If you drag drunk arse people out of a cab to randomly drug test them you need to be prepared for a hostile audience. Just a bunch of BS if you asked me.

When you enlist your rights goo bye bye

This same thing happened to me at Ramstein when living in the dorms. OSI was pulling cabs or cars coming through gate at like 2 am. Every 3rd car everyone got piss tested. We all laughed it off.

Its no different when you name gets randomly drawn for a piss test in the military.

Here is a solution don't live on base housing b/c they can even inspect your house.

Thanks Obama! Can't wait for Trump to be elected so the members of our military will once again get the respect they deserve.

That's covered under the fourth amendment of the constitution, not the second. You're welcome

They can do whatever they want at the gate. Don't go through it all fricked up. Here at Ft Bragg, they can check any car randomly. It's Military Police here not civilians. Any smell or sight and they can search your car. It's not being treated badly, do what you're supposed to do, shut your mouth and you'll be ok. We give up tons of rights as Military. Tell your friends wife to shut it.

Lol, I have been active duty going on 13 years and you are looking at it from a civilian aspect. The gate guards have the right to randomly inspect any vehicle going on base and if they feel there is a need to conduct a breathalyzer they can. As far as a piss test for drugs, your friend is exaggerating now.

Sounds like his wife caused the issue and if she would have just shut her mouth and did as they asked all would have been well. She didn't so of course the gate guards responded equally as aggressive.

As a service member we lose rights that y'all civilians get and I understand that. Going on base is not like walking into your cubicle at work. We have people and countries who if we do not screen properly at the gate, will do harm on base.

Regardless if his wife would have shut her mouth it wouldn't have been a big deal. Either way this isn't unfair nor is it a seizure of anything.

Yeah, if they want some number 1, add a little number 2 to make it a number 3.

I am sure that is exactly how it went down... When you go on post and are a service member you are subject to UCMJ, policies, and directives set forth by the Command. My guess is they smelled marijuana or suspected some other narcotics were taken by your friend and/or his wife when going through the gate and that is why they did what they did. Next, if she is a service member it is never acceptable to "blow a gasket" at the gate on which are most likely civilian employees it is called keeping your bearing (and yes you must do this even if you are intoxicated). She is lucky she only got off with a warning and most people don't understand that to be a service member you sacrifice many of your freedoms that others have. Oh and a little PT never hurt nobody I know they are in the Air Force ,but they will live...

Hell, if they were all drunked up and had to sit and wait at the gate they probably welcomed the chance to take a wizz.

I never heard of mp's doing this.

With that said, I'm not surprised. I never had gate duty during the night hours no telling what people want to go through the main post gates or even the barracks..

If you're friend is lower enlisted then he/she doesn't have many rights or any

I saw my brigade CSM buy two cases of beer with his wife and child, he got a dwi that weekend. He was asked to retire

But if you are an e3 or 4 and you haven't put your time in, then you're screwed
