According to the federal complaint obtained by our Investigative Team, investigators used KATC phone records to initially connect Haywood to the bomb threat. They were able to determine the numbers that were called from the phone and discovered it was purchased from a Lafayette Walmart on July 15, 2014. Police then used Walmart records, including video surveillance, which allegedly show a black male buying the phone at 12:00 p.m. and driving away in a dark-colored Lexus sedan.
