Uber Drivers

Do any of you personally know any Uber drivers? I was curious the average they take home each week and if they think it's worth it part time?
Guy I work with said his brother did it in NOLA on big weekends like Super Bowl, Jazz Fest, NBA Allstar game, etc and was able to pay for his college courses just on that money. Don't know if I'm buying that.

I have a friend that does this. I don't know how much she makes; it's none of my business to ask; but she says it's a good second job. She has done it for about a year and says no one has thrown up in her car yet.

My sister Ubers. She just works evenings mostly. Pulls about $600 a week. She had a girl throw up in her car and a woman had a bad case of diarrhea in her car recently.

Gross or Net? From what I've read Uber ends up being a below minimum wage job when you factor in the depreciation, gas,etcc plus all the driving you do without getting paid between trips. Uber supposedly keeps lowering wages on drivers and I believe it bc uber in 2013 when I was first using it was great. All the drivers spoke english, I rode with a guy who was an engineer during the day and did it at night to get away from his wife. I rode with an MBA student and other pretty cool people. Today it seems like all the ex yellow cab riff raff is the uber crowd and dont even bother in a place like Miami. If you don't speak spanish, literally none of them speak english unless you want to pay 3x the price for uber lux which is usually an equal POS of a car but a little higher quality brand like a C class mercedes or lexus IS

Chinese couple. The husband was embarrassed and told my sister he could not believe his wife shite all over her car and this was the most embarrassing thing ever.

No idea, just know what he said he earned. I know he said he's been flashed by girls thinking they could get a free ride, been given booze, etc, and he has been solicited by both men and women. Not sure how much is true but he is about mid 40's and drives only Friday/Saturday and holiday's

Fair enough, I just think its gross and these drivers count gross as basically their net. They dont factor in things like depreciation,maintenance,etc on a car bc they're not due on a regular basis with their paychecks. Take out the gas,sets of tires, engine services,oil changes,brakes, AND the depreciation your car takes per mile and when you mix that with how much less uber is paying each driver today vs a few years ago and you can tell exactly why the quality of driver has gone realllllly far downhill.

Uber has only retained like 4% of their drivers from a year ago, it's why you see advertising about driving for them so much lately.

I have a client who drives for both Uber and Lyft while going to school part-time.

I drive part time in Laffy and after it's all said and done it averages to about 8-10 an hour. Football, Saturday Nights, Mardi Gras and Festival International are always good. Lately it seems that there are a shite ton of drivers on the road so that thins out the money to be made.
