TX man thumbed for transporting 15 lbs of heroin along I-12

Casey Rayborn Hicks, a spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office said narcotics deputies and a K-9 were conducting patrols on Interstate 12 when they saw a bus fail to signal when changing lanes.
"When the deputy stopped the vehicle, he requested to check the luggage compartment of the bus and the driver complied," Hicks said. "EBRSO K-9 Jumma alerted to a narcotic odor from a bag under the bus." Hicks said a deputy located two fire extinguishers that were filled with about 7.2 kilograms of heroin inside the bag.
Juan Vasquez, 26, of McAllen, TX was charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule I heroin and was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
