Teaching is stressful. I deserve more than I make. No bullshitee
EVERY job - at least meaningful job - is stressful.
Whenever I think about salaries and who deserves what, I ask, "How many people could do this job?"
How many people could be a doctor? Not many. Takes eight years of the highest success in very difficult college classes plus three-five years in a highly competitive residency and then make decisions that influences people's quality of life. They deserve to make a lot of money.
How many people could be a teacher? Probably a lot. Can you read? Can you learn grammar? Then you can teach my classes. Just be organized. Be firm. Know how to deal with children. See that they are young adults that are trying to learn how to deal with the world. It's really not that hard.
It's stressful. Very stressful. But there's no reason for teachers to make much more than what they make already unless living costs skyrocket. That's the only argument for it.
