Trucker convoys - have you actually seen one lately?

You young'uns may never have seen one. I assume the 70mph speed limit killed the need for convoys?
Truckers' convoys were created as a byproduct of the 55 mph speed limit and 18-wheelers becoming the prime targets of speed traps. Most truckers had difficult schedules to keep and as a result had to maintain a speed above the posted speed limit to reach their destinations on time. Convoys were started so that multiple trucks could run together at a high speed with the rationale being that if they passed a speed trap the police would only be able to pull over one of the trucks in the convoy. When driving on a highway, convoys are also useful to conserve fuel by drafting.

No. I'm 27. But, I have seen a shite load off arse hat 18 wheelers doing 71 in the left lane on interstate.

I saw one this past weekend, but they were all those Ford full-size (14 passenger) vans. They were all the same exact type of van, just different colors and all different types of license plates. At least 50-75 passed me on the interstate. I figured one or two of the vans in the middle were loaded with drugs

I see those all the time between Birmingham and Atlanta. Windows are always tinted. Shady as hell and obviously has something to do with human or drug trafficing.
