Anybody from Blanchard knows exactly where that place is...almost right across from KCS. No way in hell I would have ever stopped there, not even in the middle of the day.

For Christmas season in 97 me and my buddy Wimberly got after school jobs as Santa at South Park Mall in Shreveport. It would have been normal but we are both black. South Park Mall lost a lot of business after that and closed down a few years later. I'll never forget a good ole boy passed by and said "honey look they've got a n***** Santa". He got that mug shut down. Lol

I don't go to convenience stores in north baton rouge at night. I don't stop in backwoods stores ever. Nothing to do with race, it's just a legitimate safety concern. Trash is just a much of a danger as thugs..which is literally just a way of saying black/white trash with baggy pants.
In california, I recently had some issues with a few meth heads blocking my wife in a dead end aisle in a convenience store. Being unarmed in california, when I walked and saw what happened, I grabbed the nearest blunt object (a can of ravioli I believe) and in my best south louisiana drawl asked if we had a problem.
Black, white, mexican, asian, indian... IDGAF, when they find the perps, they mace them and do a rather hard takedown. Then let em rot in jail.

In all seriousness, a couple of guys I work with had to drive to Hosston in north louisiana. Both guys are black, one is a well dressed conservative guy, his lab assistant has dreads and a face tattoo.
They pull into Hosston, and the place immediately starts gives the young guy the creeps. Older guy says to calm down, walks in to grab a drink while the kid pumps gas. Comes back out and three Hosses are around the young guy saying there aren't many black people around those parts. They see my colleague, smile, say "good morning, sir", and walk inside the store.
Why?
I think because they viewed the kid as lesser because of how he presented himself. The older, well dressed, obviously wealthy guy registered as just another guy on their radar.
Racism still exists, but it isn't as clear cut and dry as it once was.
Me, personally, I hate trash. Color doesn't matter. Money doesn't matter. Hell, the jersey shore trash has more money than most OT ballers.

I've went into the store before because the SO took too long to use the restroom and was thinking worst case scenario before she walked out and looked at me like I was dumb for going in there.
