DOTD says that they do not know if the power is off. They want someone from Entergy right there to tell them it is off, but it is the responsibility of the home owners to coordinate services.
Which is exactly why you hook a chain up to this shite, yank it to the side of the road, and let them figure out the rest... or you could just keep waiting around for something to happen.

I'd give you $5 to take care of it, terd. Except it's not in my way.

While I would normally agree with the get a chainsaw and truck crowd, I drove by this today. It has two large transformers and a major power junction line.
This is one of those things that says "don't touch me". This one calls for the pros.

I am the only house on my street without power. I can't get anyone out to look at it and it's not on my end. fricking Entergy.
Obviously they should drop what they are doing and restore your power instead of fixing a bigger issue that could get power back to hundreds

Same thing on Christian street this morning. Small tree blocking most of road and owner of house has three cars in the driveway. Could use a hand saw, just lazy. Maybe they went to Baltimore. Doritos for everyone.

Don't group all city livers in to your "City folk" my street was blocked from down trees, limbs and lines from the street lights as well as westdale drive a pretty busy street. When I got home the kids and I grabbed a saw and cut everything up and I moved the lines so the two cops sitting in their cars running the ac could move and reopen the street. As he was leaving the cop said man you should send Kip a bill, what a jerk off. We then went around the corner and cut a tree that had country club dr blocked about the time we were finishing a dpw sign crew showed up to put up road closed barricades and signs, which were not needed at that point. My neighbors like to laugh at me when it looks like a hurricane may be headed our way and I make sure I have everything I need to take care of my family, but I usually get the last laugh when they have to come over in need of something.

Goddamn city folk. When tress fall across the road out here people come out with chainsaws, chains, and trucks and move that shite out of the way... and by people I don't mean city workers, I mean people that need to drive down that street.

You may be handy with a chainsaw, but you absolutely suck at spelling and punctuation.

quote:yea, preach on. the tree on stanford is tangled in a jumbled mess of power lines. why aren't those lazy city folk getting out there and picking it up? us country folks would have that cleared with a roaring fire in the fireplace by sun down, y'all. we aint skeered of gettin electrumucuted.
Preach on.
