At the end of this year. Anybody have any recommendations on things to do, places to eat etc while there?

I went to Drake Bay a few years back, which isn't too far. That whole coast is beautiful. Just make sure you don't leave anything valuable in your luggage. It will go missing.

I stopped through there on our vacation about a month ago. It is a neat place. Not as touristy as some spots further north on the coast. Ate lunch at a little outdoor place called El Pescado Loco. It was a decent place to get shrimp and fish tacos. In general there was not a whole lot of good food in Costa Rica. Its an awesome country to visit and I cant wait to go back sometime.

Agreed. I love the country but their food sucks.

You won't find much European cuisine, but I can live on flatbread, goat cheese, and fish for a week and be very happy.
The Pacific coast of Costa Rica is my happy place.
