Trashy or good father? Fireworks Thread
Posted by tigerstripedjacket on 7/1/17 at 9:50 pm846
My daughter really wants some fireworks, but with the Denham Springs Walmart opening, my hours at the Walker Walmart have been cut back.
I know it's not smart to put it all on the credit card, but rent is due on Monday. My nephew lives with us because my sister is a fricking meth-head. Is it trashy to trade my nephews food stamps for a little extra cash?

I'm sorry but don't waste your money on fireworks. Buy your daughter a sno-cone and take her to watch fireworks somewhere else.

Yes, it's not only trashy but you're taking food out of children's mouths.
I hope this is a troll.
Find a place to watch free fireworks.

A good father teaches their kids how to live within their means.

Wow, I meant for my response to the advice you were asking for, but let me try again.
Fireworks are essentially a literal example of burning through disposable income. Based on your question save the money and your young one will still be entertained watching a fireworks show even if you're not putting it on.
Eta: I know I posted cheers, but don't spend the firework/rent money on beer either.

Walmart, fireworks, Livingston Parish, meth, and food stamps all in one post. How much trashier can you be?

What's the APR on your CC? If it is below 35% go for it.
If not, start up a GoFundMe. I'm sure many here will be willing to contribute.
