At least those affected have zero warning like many years ago.
With the doppler radar, etc. there is as much notice as can be. Speaking from experience, there really isn't much more you can do, day or night, when preparing for an imminent tornado if you haven't already prepared.

While this is true.. there are many people traveling on the roads completely unaware of what's coming their way.

People need to take severe weather seriously. Always be aware of the daily forecasts.

I just had the NWS Alert come on my TV in regards to a new Tornado Watch over Northwest Arkansas.

I can't remember a TOR watch being issued this late in my area.

I can't imagine what the Super Outbreak of '74 was like. It was the worst outbreak on record until the Super Outbreak of 2011. But unlike the Super Outbreak of 2011, the '74 outbreak occurred mostly at night.

Tornadoes absolutely terrify me. If there's a chance of a tornado around my area, I'm not sleeping until the threat is gone. Closest I have ever been was when there was a funnel cloud right over my house. Luckily it didn't touch down until much later and the tornado was pretty weak. Needless to say, living in Georgia I've been very lucky to never actually see one touch down.

Experienced a small one in Tioga, LA in October 2001. That was enough for me. Hopefully I won't see another one.

Tornado Warning now up in SE Kansas.

Hopefully we are spared tonight.

Nothing that will choke these current storms out. Dangerous situation.
