880 lightning strikes in the last 30 mins according to Scirto. It's a show.

This last burst of rain brought the water up a foot again. Got into our garage again and leaked into the office.
Thankfully we have a good amount of rain free weather at my location till the cold front finally brings the last remaining showers through.

It looks like storms should mostly line out overnight but there could always be an embedded spin up:
After that passes, it looks like Wednesday could be another day to watch:
Both the 12z Euro and GFS showed over a foot of rain for parts of S. Louisiana. The GFS is below:

This was the weekend of the canton trade days too I believe. Hopefully everybody got out of there- that would be a major disaster if all that furniture and junk that's sitting outside started flying around with a bunch of people there.

The reports out this evening are that there were a significant number of serious injuries. The early report from NWS is that there were 3 tornadoes and the largest was 1/2 mile wide at times.

Yes it does..
We are going to speak with the city about fixing our issue down in this valley we live in. We aren't in a "flood zone" which is obviously bullshite.
The local airport nearby sends all of its water into a creek that flows directly into our valley. This is the worst it has ever been.

I can only imagine how scary that was for those people- terrible place to get caught in a tornado (not that any place is good) but because there's very little shelter, plus all that junk blowing everywhere, it could easily be a major disaster. Praying there are no more fatalities!

Sad stuff.
Just an overall destructive system.. from tornadoes to floods.
Hope I never see a stalled out low like that ever again.
Tomorrow I have to clean all this shite up. In the end we were very fortunate that the rain stopped when it did earlier in the day.
If we had another hour of that rain it would have gotten the entire house.

Southeast Louisiana is primed as frick. The cap that was over the area all day weakened significantly. Cape values well over 3000 j/Kg, SRH over 550, EHI~10, STP 5-10, depending on location.

Looks like they rained us out just in time. I just made it back to my room and lightening is popping off all around. I'm in sulphur.
