i have a very safe/neutral example: who went through high school without ever being taught the indian caste system?
that is slightly based in hinduism and is slightly impactful on their society

It's a good thing her son's teacher decided to skip over Zoroastrianism. She woulda REALLY flipped her shyte. Crazy ideas like heaven and hell, free will, angels and demons and a coming savior!

Well my head basketball coach was my world history teacher so we talked basketball (since the entire class played ball) and my world geography teacher was our offensive coordinator so we talked football or went to the weight room. My civics teacher was our assistant football coach. My American history teacher was our defensive coordinator
Don't assume everyone learned it in high school. I wasn't subjected to any different religions besides Methodist, baptistery, or jehovah witnesses until I attended college.
Of course the Internet didn't exist or was in its infancy when I graduated high school.
My good it must be nice now doing research instead of going to the basement of techs library and looking up old news articles and other research.

I teach middle school social studies--yeah an OT baller--and we have had major world religions in world geography curriculum for years. The students learn about Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and one or two more. They also learn about the polytheistic early civilizations and the human sacrificing Aztecs or Incas. We don't read the actual holy books or indoctrinate. Religion is by definition part of a groups culture which we are trying to teach.
