To Andre the Giant: The greatest drinker who has ever lived

His drinking stories seem to put Bill Brasky's to shame and by far still holds the known record for most drinks in a single sitting. Some of the following seem to be typical for him:

- Claimed to consume 7,000 calories of alcohol a day on average. That's 74 Miller Lites.
- Drank 119 12-ounce beers in six hours
- Mike Graham and Dusty Rhodes claim that he drank 156 16-ounce beers in one sitting
- Drank 127 beers in a Reading, Pennsylvania hotel bar and later passed out in the lobby. The staff could not move him and left him.
- Cleared a plane’s entire stock of vodka during a flight to Japan
- Drank six bottles of wine before almost every match
- On road trips to wrestling matches, Andre would average a case of beer every 90 minutes
- Drank 12 bottles of wine on a bus in 3 hours
- Once consumed 16 bottles of plum wine before wrestling three matches shortly thereafter. The wine showed no discernable effect whatsoever.
- Hulk Hogan claims that he drank 108 12-ounce beers in an hour before a flight
- Rob Reiner claimed he drank 20 bottles of wine right before shooting the final scene of "The Princess Bride"
- Downed pitchers full of “various liquors” and ran up a $40,000 bar tab
- Once responded to a last call by ordering 40 vodka tonics
- Pounded two cases of tall boys during an hour-long car ride
- When asked how much it took him to get drunk, Andre replied “It usually takes two liters of vodka just to feel warm inside.” For the record, that’s over 50% more alcohol than what killed John Bonham (which he drank over a 24 hour period).

I find them all very hard to believe (especially the Hulk Hogan one) but if even half of it is true, he has to hold the record. The 119 one is currently the official record holder in the Guiness Book of World Records.
