They rarely work right. They require a reset at the dealer if you rotate your tires. And I've replaced 2 already that have gone out. Can we just go back to the "if it looks flat check it" model?

Never had any issue with mine in the 6 years I had my car
Went through 2 rotations a year and bought new tires at 5 years
Worked fine

I have been told by some that the system itself is easy to break

I guess I just got lucky

Nothing a small square of black electrical tape can't fix.

I wish I could just turn mine off...I'm sure there's a fuse I could remove.

I had problems with it on prior pickup. One sensor went bad and once the spare went low and that was hard to troubleshoot.

2 1/2 years in on current pickup with no trouble.

no need to take it to the dealership to reset it. just look it up, it's fairly simple

Resetting a working sensor system is easy, if any of the sensors (located inside each tire) fail, then it's not so easy.

Can you not have the dealer leave them out of the tires?

Every time I got a warning guess what it meant, I had a flat tire. It has saved my arse, I mean tires a few times.

Never had any issues until the last set of tires i put on back in february. 3 of the 4 tire pressure sensors have going out. Pretty annoying, but I've learned to live with it, and don't plan on having them fixed any time soon.

you can have a tire shop take the sensors out of the wheels and disable the system at the dash

Mine is always on. It would go on and off almost every time I hit a bump in the road, now it mostly just stays on. I've learned to ignore it.

Never had a problem with it on my Toyota.

Mine was fine on my Tundra until I had a blowout and a piece of the shrapnel I ran over ripped the valve stem off. So I had the TPMS replaced. Now it isn't properly set to the correct PSI and will flash constantly, even when all 4 tires and the spare are properly inflated.

Yet another regulation handed down from the current administration because they think the American people are too stupid to observe the indications that their tire pressure may be getting low.

I've got two sensors out on my truck right now. One is completely out and the other has malfunctioned. Its several hundred dollars to replace them. Which is not much but the sensors are located in the tire so it means I can't replace them myself.
