Hell yeah. Be sure to pick up some Spanish fly when you go.

I went in 2001 when I was 20 years old and couldn't get into San Diego bars. It was basically like spring break all the time on the "strip".

That was before the drug cartels were as big as they are now.

Just stay in SD. One would be nuts to leave such an awesome place for such a shitty one.

I went around 2002/2003 for a day trip while in San Diego. It was an interesting place. I don't think I'd go now though.

I'll bring US dollars. I did research and watched a video on youtube.

It seemed like it was East Houston.

I'd go to the La Jolla tidepools or something similar instead. SD is awesome by itself.

Park your car on the US border side and walk across if you do. Don't drive across. I made that mistake and had 4-5 Policia point guns at my car and me in a traffic stop. Luckily my wife (no pics) is from Mexico and got us out of the situation. After I parked in a garage and we asked the attendant if car was safe. He just said "maybe"

This was 2008-09 time frame. Had fun outside of that though.

Leave San Diego.

Travel to Tijuana.

Continue past Tijuana on to Rosarito as Tijuana is hell on earth.

Unless you are looking for a prostitute there is really no reason to go to TJ. If that is what you after then have at it, they are very affordable I hear.

Rosarito Beach and Puerto Nuevo are great. Getting there is not.

My roommate and I drove from Los Angeles to Ensenada and back.

We travelled through San Diego, Tijuana and Rosarito before reaching Ensenada.

We travelled without any issue(s) whatsoever but this was nearly eight years ago so maybe times have changed.

No donkey shows but admittedly it's been a while since I've been.
