Is there an argument the PGA has failed their obligation to increase minority participation in tournaments after Tiger Woods?

I noticed on Twitter the hashtag #AllWhiteMasters is trending, and I took a look at the roster and it's not wrong

There's is also the issue whether or not minority groups (like BLM) have standing to sue to compel the PGA to act, or even seek damages for their failure to do so.

What do you think?

So you want the PGA to put in token black athletes in the hopes of what?

It isn't as if seeing some guy not make the cut on Friday will help an inner city kid discover his dream.

You're dumb.

Edit: Ok, maybe you're not dumb, but the hashtag is. Same reason you don't see professional Xgames black people. They're just not into those sports.

Prime example of why social media needs to go away. Does anyone really think a bunch of old rich white men give a damn about a hashtag?

How 'bout the minorities get good at golf and they'll get invited.

I mean, how many minority kids do you see putting down the football or basketball to pick up a golf club? Almost any time a minority plays golf, ESPN is slobbering all over them before they even know if they're legit or not. I've tried a lot of different sports and let me say, golf is by far the most infuriating game I've ever played. However, I digress, it's 2017 so any time something with a white majority is taking place, it might as well be a clan rally at this point because that's how the world today will treat it.

This right here is the first dumb response on this thread.

At any rate, OP, why is there an obligation on the PGA's part?

See the problem here is that you automatically throw the PGA organization into the racist category because the lack of black golfers on tour. In reality there probably aren't that many black golfers out there and if there are how many are good enough to play professional. My analogy with the NBA is that there are alot of white guys playing basketball and the ratio of these white guys that make it in the NBA is very small. If we say the black guy in golf is good but if he doesn't make it in the PGA it is because the PGA is racist. You say that white guy is good in basketball but in the NBA they just say he ain't good enough for the NBA. Look do I believe there is some discrimination in golf probably so but guarantee there is also in the NBA. Imho

No, that's not an issue. But just for fun, what would you have the PGA do? Golf is a sport that starts very young and the vast majority of white people never even get seriously into it.

It is ultimately about access. How many public schools field golf teams? I'm not eve sure any do. Absent a school program, golf is pretty damn expensive to learn.

You also have to see that the PGA tour consists of many international players that come from predominantly white countries(maybe not all japan, spain, etc.) which have golf courses and have large quantities of people that play golf.

Thats not how things work in the world now. OP wants affirmative action on the golf course.

Maybe the biggest issue is that golf is seen by many minority groups as an elitist sport?

Courses aren't located in or within reasonable distance to minority neighborhoods.

Green fees are expensive, further disenfranchising minitoties.

Miniroties have no community leaders to teach them the rules of the sport.

The PGA is in the best position for including all groups into their outreach efforts. In our system there is always someone accountable.

That's why certai groups that are growing to represent urban communities could possibly explore their standing to seek monetary compensation for past failures which would, more importantly, compel the PGA to become cognizant of how they are (possibly accidental but nonetheless inexcusable) disenfranchising miniroties.

What do you think?

There are plenty of courses that are in black neighborhoods. Look at the public courses.

Most of the public schools in my area field golf teams.
You are correct golf is expensive.
