The modern mall like MBK or Chatuchak Weekend Market?

Edited to add it's MBK. Had to look it up. Totally not something I thought I would enjoy, but it was actually kinda fun. Like haggling with vendors at a border town, but on crack. It was a HUGE place, but I still wanted to see every bit of it in case there was some random piece of shite for $3 I wanted to bring home.

My now wife was the negotiator in India. She's way better at it.

They seem to come at me first for the price, then I'd say "I don't know what do you think?" And turn to her.

She hated I did that, but after a few times she got the hang of getting them down so I just kept doing it

Least she can do after I do all the planning myself.

We live close by so its pretty easy to hop over to Thailand for a nice beach vacation. Havent done Chang Mai yet but I have heard really great things from friends here who have gone recently. Hope to go there once our little ones are older. Phuket is nice but it is a bit touristy and you aren't going to see the awesome karst topography (limestone cliffs) that Thailand is famous for.
We are going to Krabi in a few weeks and are all really looking forward to it. Especially going to Phra Nang beach below..

Make sure you check to see where the wet season is for the time you are going. At certain times of year its rainy on the Andaman side (Krabi, Phuket, Phi Phi etc) and then it shifts to the Gulf of Thailand side (Koh Samui, etc)

Can't wait!

I'm looking into Krabi and going to Railay beach for a day. I also want a day at Phi Phi Lee, as the beach from The Beach is beautiful. I may not go to Phuckett at all as I can fly to Krabi from Chang Mai or Bangkok.

I'm still fixated on the Andaman sea side rather than the Gulf side. Mainly because the scenary looks better from the images I see. Though Ko Samui looks really nice as well.

If we go to Phuckett we would do Air BnB if Krabi I think a hotel on the beach. I have my dates set. looking for best airfare now as that will sway the trip, then want to book condo in Chang Mai and decide how much time I want in Bangkok and pick between Krabi and Phuckett.

Railway beach

Their language looks like baby doodles, I'm sure this will be the first of many misspellings.
