The beginning of the end. This is a moral, Christian state.

Its trashy but no more trashy than cigarettes so i don't mind legalizing it.

I think I read that it will be only legal in pill form. Which I hear kind of sucks. I'm content getting it the illegal way.

Legalize fully, no reason alcohol and cigarettes should be legal and pot isn't. Can't OD on it and is not physically addictive

You lost most your supporters in this thread with that one

Ain't never gonna happen. We'll be one of the last 2or3 to do it

Should be legalized fully for all purposes, recreational and medicinal, and duly regulated and appropriately taxed by the state.
We should just do a copy and paste of Colorado's law where the money from it stays in state and goes to our roads, schools, healthcare, and other worthwhile gov't funded expenditures. Not a a bill given to us by big pharma and big alcohol to control the profits and take our money away from us out of state.

I think the fact that it's even being brought up shows great progress for our state Imo. Baby steps.

Just being brought up isn't something to hang your hat on in 2015.

I completely disagree and think it's actually more realistic than people think.

It was already brought up, and legalized, in 1993 in Louisiana. Doctors can prescribe it, patients can use it. But there are no pharmacies that can legally dispense it.
That was over 20 years ago, so no, I wouldn't call just bringing it up progress.

A few months ago, I was talking to a Sheriff's Office unit chief at SELU and he's teaching a criminal justice class there. It was a total random meeting as I was on campus for business.
We got around to talking about the WoD and he told that he is 95% sure that weed will be legal in Louisiana with 7-10 years and New Orleans will be booming with it. And he works for a Sheriff's Office that isn't exactly urban or even suburbia.

i'm against it. legal weed would make my area unbearable - already have too many intoxicated idiots driving around texting
but... I don't think people should go to prison for smoking it
