Have a question. T Mobile's coverage towers are fine in populated areas. They don't have their towers positioned very well in rural areas. It is my understanding that once you get out of their coverage that you switch to other cell phone company's towers at no extra charge. Can someone comment on T Mobile's coverage outside of the highly populated areas?

I'm interested in T Mobile due to their unlimited data plan.

How much data do you really use/need?

I switched to a plan with 20gb and don't come anywhere CLOSE to going over.

Streaming Netflix and Amazon Instant Video in HD fricks you up on data usage.

Can you hang out for 6 months? T-Mobile bought 1 billion dollars worth of Verizon towers they are rolling out later this year to address the rural coverage issue.

It's pretty hit and miss outside populated areas. I have no signal at my folks house in the sticks. It doesn't bother me though - I welcome being unreachable when visiting.

They don't charge for roaming. The rural service is non-existent.

That won't work then. I'll wait until their transition over to Verizon's purchased towers pans out, and will check again.

How much do you pay for that?

That's when they will shut down the unlimited data plan. Why do you think they have that plan now? It isn't because they have good coverage everywhere.
