Those who flooded last year: Have you done the Louisiana Restore Survey?

And if so, where are you in the process? Have you gotten/completed the second questionnaire? Had an inspection?

I think they're still working on Phases I-III. Curious about people's experiences so far.

The Shelter-In-Place program was a joke and a scam.

Me to, but no flood insurance for me. The only thing I've seen is someone in my neighborhood driving around doing a survey of the area.

I think I'm phase 3 - didn't have flood insurance.

I got an email to complete the second part on the 7/14, had to go through and verify some more stuff and then I had to upload a bunch of documents (Tax returns, Right of Entry, Fraud Certification, and Release of Info Consent form). Did that all and submitted it on the 17th and haven't heard anything back.

I did notice TetraTech set up an office in the shopping center off Airline and Highland - I'm assuming they're involved somehow?

Check your spam folder, I've found all of the emails from them are getting caught up as spam.

Same here, but I did not have content coverage and we went over a bit on the rebuild. Haven't seen or heard anything.

I completed the survey the first available day, and I heard from them about two weeks later that I didn't fall into any of the first 6 phases. I had structural flood insurance, but did not have contents.

I called about a month ago, to find out if there was any progress in the phases, and if/when I would find out if I qualified for anything, and the lady asked if I had received an email. I told her the above statement, and she said that there have been no changes as of yet.

I told her that the NFIP is screwing people over left and right, and the populace has no recourse, and we need help, whether we had insurance or not. DIdn't do any good.

I believe this is where I fall as well. I've done the second step like you described with the verifications and documents. I've tried to speak to people about what happens next and when, but I can't get a straight answer. I was hoping someone here had been through it all. The website says that over $2 mill has been dispersed to home owners.

I am in phase III and actually had an estimator come to my house last Tuesday. I have not heard back from anyone since then.
the guy told me that the estimate has to go up to the company that is running it, then to the case worker, then to the state, then back to the company...

You're going to have to explain what that is. A middle-man for finding contractors? Do they get paid? Kick backs from the contractors? Do you sign a contract with them?

I din't get anything so far.

They manage the project, and independently QA/QC the work.
And if I'm not satisfied, I now have them to deal with them along with the contractor and sub? How does communication work there?

I've seen this before where a "solutions" firm is created to match up people with a service and vice versa. It's fairly common actually. What it looks like is a group of contractors teamed together to give themselves more work/references while they "oversee" themselves. If you look at the BoD, it's full of "Consultants" and "Builder Liaisons"

I flooded. No insurance. I filled out the survey because they were practically begging people to do so. Recd an email to proceed with the application. My initial inspection is taking place within the next hour. Interested to see what happens next.

Let us know how it goes. When did you submit the second application? Did they call you or email you to set up the inspection?

Had the same thing happen to me. I asked if I'd actually get any money and they said that I probably wouldn't because I qualify for an SBA loan?

I don't want to deal with having another layer of 3rd party inspectors and whatnot if I don't actually qualify for anything but they want desperately to get the 3rd party inspectors out because that's how they get paid. Also, I've had reeeeally bad experiences with contractors thus far so I'm subbing everything out myself and doing what I can do myself to save money. Sounds like that might not jive with what they want either.

Anyone else know what the qualifications are and what the actual benefits are? I think I'm in "phase 3".

We flooded, had insurance and did NOT fill out the survey. After the total farce of the "shell game at home" program, I refuse to give those scum bags any more information. It cost me more in the end to repair all of their screw ups than it would have if we would have had it done right the first time. From what I am hearing, the state is begging for everyone to fill out the survey so that they can maximize the federal dollars that most will never see a penny of. Just another scam to steal more tax dollars, in my opinion.
