Public infrastructure usually pays for itself. Typically just very expensive.

Also, do a little research. This would be funded largely by federal grants for public infrastructure. Why anyone wouldn't want that money to be allocated locally is beyond me.

No. Baton Rouge needs to die off. Cut your losses. Move away.

I can think of plenty of other things in that city that were a bigger waste of money than a tram.

CATS are RATS and the TRAM is a SCAM
Since taxes are paying big time for CATS and they have almost empty busses, make

Would you prefer the money go to section 8 instead?

That corridor is ripe for development and redevelopment and this will only help. Maybe eventually the trash will get pushed out of the President Streets and the area surrounding LSU won't be a ghetto embarrassment.

Can't wait to see what that thing looks like on gameday.

Why not allocate those funds towards building a loop?

We sure know how to secure money for a tram, but can't find a dime to fill in some potholes.

Sounds about right.

I don't think it's something we need but at this point I like it because it upsets Gary Chambers.

This is a fantasy. We all know baton rouge can't have nice things.

The problem with projects like this is that the poors and lower class will want to ride on it and get to Tiger Stadium during gameday. Why ruin a good thing?

If they want this thing to succeed, they need to budget for one police officer per tram, 24/7, with cameras everywhere.

Otherwise, I guarantee this will turn into a mobile mugging service in the first week, and no one will want to ride it afterward.

Honestly, I like the gondola system idea more than the tram idea.

Students use the hell out of public transit in the LSU area. Creating a gondola above Nicholson that integrates with a larger system of gondolas around the perimeter of campus where new housing is exploding would certainly help with traffic congestion.
