Background is that I quit my job about six weeks ago despite hearing the famous "don't quit your current job until you find another one" line several times. Well, I was really unhappy where I was at so I said screw it and left for something else. ive sent a lot of resumes for job listings on indeed, monster, LinkedIn, etc and sill haven't landed on something and it's beginning to be extremely frustrating. Any words of advice or options to look at?

What jobs are you applying for, what is your area of expertise?

do you have a family to take care of? If so take anything possible at this point. Find a nice restaurant and go be a server for the time being. If not and you have money saved up to where it not gonna be a problem for a little longer just keep looking and good luck. What kind of work?

This... but obviously with a significant cut in pay for being such an a-hole.

Yes. Tell us what you can do/are willing to do and where you live/are willing to live.

I definitely wouldn't tell prospective employers that you up and quit your recent job and wouldn't have that on the resume. Best to act as if you still have the old job.
