This is the First Year that Santa is not coming to our home.
Posted by Lsupimp on 12/24/15 at 11:02 am1079
I'm not sure life will be as perfectly sweet as it has been having young children. Being a parent has been the greatest pleasure of my life. Making it "magic" for the kids has been a gift to me, much more than to them. Whatever I gave them, they have returned ten-fold to me. I am now more aware of the cruel passage of time, how blessed I have been since these wonderful little humans began calling me "Daddy", and how short my time on Earth is becoming, than ever before.
Savor every beautiful moment with your children.
Merry Christmas.

My mother, to this day and I'm 42, still puts "From: Santa" on 1 or 2 presents for my me, my wife and our teenagers. I still do the same at home for my girls. We're not alive long enough to go on being so damn cynical.

Don't worry, once those teens get married, they will bring home rug rats. I'm blessed with one grandson and Santa is back.

We are right there with you this year. What a difference only a few years makes.
Agree on gifts going out after midnight too

Why is this in quotes? And I assure you, you don't know exactly what you're getting into when you have kids.

Last year you could tell my boys knew what was going on but went along with it. This year I straight up asked them if they wanted Santa to come or if they wanted more gifts wrapped under the tree. They went with wrapped gifts. Kinda made me a little sad.

Those comments were made earlier in a "Remember the service members away from their families this holiday season" thread

My youngest (7 yrs) is still all about Santa. She's all fired up and I'm loving it. And thankfully, our older one (14 yrs) is a thoughtful big brother to her and plays along for her sake.

Had one more year until this little crank at school told my little one.

What a depressing post
My kids are 23, 18 and almost 15. Santa will always come to our home!!! (But I know what you mean and how you feel ... I miss the "magic" as well.)

Mine is a wise 8 and has asked if we were Santa already, I just brushed him off.
Funny - He says "well I know dad's the tooth ferry because I caught him putting money under my pillow".
I'm loading him up tonight, PS4 etc etc etc etc
