Find me a place to live and a job. I'm sick of Charleston and Nashville is one of my favorite cities.

He was slowly warming up.

The Tennessee State Capitol Building is from the 1840s, it's an interesting example of antebellum Greek Revival work. James K. Polk and his widow Sarah (who out-lived him by a measly 52 years) are buried on the grounds.

That's all I got.

I read somewhere that Nashville has more tittybars per capita than any other city in the US.

So . . . titties.

Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum
Ryman Auditorium (either for a show or just the self guided tour)
Grand Ole Opry (either at the new Opry house or the Ryman depending on the time of year). Mostly older country acts with some more current artists. It is longest-running radio broadcasts in history.
Tennessee State Capitol building
The Hermitage (Andrew Jackson's home)
Stones River National Battlefield is a short drive away in Murfreesboro
The Parthenon in Centennial Park. A full sized replica of the Parthenon in Athens, it houses a replica of the Elgin marbles and the Athena Parthenos statue. There is also an art museum in the lower level.
Bluebird Café for some really good songwriter showcases.
Loveless Café for breakfast.

What line of work are you in?

Nice post. I'd add the new convention center and Frist Center as well. If you do Loveless Cafe go during the week.

Pharmacy is chronic, if you make it down to Franklin check out Carter House and Carnton Plantation, eat at Grays Drugs or Pucketts Grocery

Hit the bars on Broadway. Check out what shows are at the Ryman. The Grand Ole Opry is currently at the Ryman through January. If you like country music, then the museum is cool.

The Hermatige is cool if you like history. There is also a lot of Civil history in the area.

Places to eat
Arnold's for lunch
Martin's BBQ
The Southern (the brunch is awesome)
Thai Esane
Loveless Cafe
Prince's Hot Chicken

Went to my first NHL game in Nashville last week. I enjoyed it. And the arena is downtown so you can hit up Broadway before/after.

Hockey live was unexpectedly great.

Go downtown to the Hermitage Hotel and ask to use the restroom. I am assuming you are male but if you are female then have someone peek in the mens room and see if it is clear. It is the most insane bathroom I have ever seen. It has literally won awards. But only the mens is really nice. lol Go figure.

I enjoyed Nashville because I collect vinyl records and they have some really good finds around the city if you are looking for old records. The Great Escape is a good start.

Country Music Hall of Fame was OK but I am just not a museum kind of person, if you do it pay the few extra bucks for the handset that talks to you, makes it much more interesting and helps slow you down.

The relic that used to be country music. I'm sure it's in a museum somewhere in Nashville.
