How did it get here? What do you think? I asked this question in a thread on poli board. Thought I'd bring it here for some opinions.

At one point there was nothing and now there is something. Also, there is growing evidence that there is something massive beyond the observable universe.

I personally think from a collapsed universe, or the collusion between two universes.

God. One of two things has to be eternal in order for the universe to exist and most scientists agree that the universe had a beginning.

Our specific universe? The current theory sounds right. That basically our universe comes from an older universe that collapsed on itself. That universes go through periods of great expansion and great collapse

However, how did existence itself start? I don't know. That alone is pretty much why I believe in a higher power

The big crunch from one universe begat the big bang of this universe

Our big crunch will create another big bang

Take what I say with grain of salt. I am a multi-verser

One look at the beauty in nature shows me there was a master designer.

It is something that has always been. Think about that. There was never a time it began.

That's my line of thinking as well.

The universe itself could easily be eternal. Just as easily as an eternal being. Adding another person(god) to the equation doesnt make your theory more sound

It is not known if the universe had a beginning. We cant see all the way back to the moment of the big bang and we cant see beyond that. So no, scientists don't know that the universe had a beginning. They might have a theory but they dont know

This is similar to what I think. I don't believe in god in the religious sense (as it is in the bible), but I do believe there is a higher power.

We know it started with a singularity which "exploded" into the universe we see today, albeit in various dissimilar stages. There's a myriad of theories as to the how, but likely we'll never fully know.

One of the more interesting ones I've read about recently revolves around the fact that there are only two places in the universe that a singularity exists, the Big Bang and in black holes. We live in a three dimensional universe and lots of math and physics may lead us to believe that inside every black hole is another two dimensional universe, raising the possibility that we are in a black hole that exists in a four dimensional universe. Yes I'm excluding time, talking about space. I'll see if I can find the article.
