A relative just got accepted there. I noted that the tuition is north of $40k. Worth it?

It is a very good school. In fact a great school. Worth it is relative, an education is greater than how much you make in the first 5 years. The people, the experience should all factor in. College isn't Vo-Tech school, it is education. Which should be about gathering knowledge and being learned about more than one subject.

Study what you love, let it all play out after.

It is a good school. Good academics, Good social scene. Actually was named the best school for community service in the entire country by some magazine. Most people end up going to Grad school, which is symptomatic of liberal arts these days. One of my biggest complaints though is related to that. There is virtually no career services and most people ended up going to grad school in lieu of a career.

They have to go there. From there they're given directions to the Atlantic Ocean, where they then go straight until they hit Great Britain.

No, that scholarship is to the University of Oxford(England). Hardest scholarship in the world to get.
