National Geographic's Facebook page is surprisingly high quality. Watched a Facebook Live of one of their people walking around this awesome hotel at Machu Picchu the other day. It was cool.

It is all about drumming up attention. This is the first time the OT has cared about a National Geographic cover to my knowledge. NatGeo is basically trolling for attention.
Ironically, if the people who hated it so much just let it go, it would fall out of favor. Same with the Kaepernick hoopla earlier this year that is essentially an afterthought now that people have moved on. These people aren't heroes and they aren't villains, but as long as the two sides continue to paint them as such, they'll continue to get the attention they obviously crave.
