The Implications of Using Race In A Non-Racial Dispute

LINK
The link above is to a Twitter moments involving a woman who says, after the flight attendants made two people who didn't speak English move she asked why they had to move. They explained to her is was for safety reasons. As they continued to go over the safety measures the woman was talking. She claims she was using her "inside voice" when the flight attendants asked "are we going to have a problem?" and the woman replied "are we going to have a problem?" At that point she claims she was escorted off the plane by two caucasian officers. The reason she said she was kicked off and banned from using American Air again is simply because she is black.
While I think we still have some work to do in this country when it comes to race, in this situation, if the media irresponsibly gets behind this woman or there is some type of rally around this woman, would it hurt the reputation of American Airlines? If so, what is there to protect them in a situation someone makes a race issue out of a situation that had nothing to do with race but resulted in loss of profits? Also, can you argue this is similar to defamation of character?

I'm sure that her Twitter posts are exactly the way it went down.

After reading some of her twitter comments, I have a hard time believing this woman's story. Using your inside voice? I'm sure she caught an attitude with the flight attendant and then was ejected from the plane. This is similar to the shite that happens in the hospital every night if someone is kicked out of color or if they feel they didn't get the treatment they "deserve" They'll say shite like, "You racist, white honkey." blah blah blah. My response is usually I'm not the one spewing racial slurs. This really isn't a story and its something very common that aggressive black folks do.

It makes me sad knowing I support the same school as her.

One thing's for sure, the lady and her lawyer are gonna get a big fat check from AA when they settle. Plus with all the media exposure that'll come from this, the airline will lose business.
That passenger is in a pretty good position right now, and American be fricked.

She looks like her inside voice would be very loud and obnoxious. She was seated in an exit row running her mouth while the stewardess was trying to go over safety stuff.

I dunno. Sounds like both sides in this story could have toned it down a notch if her version is accurate.

No she won't its her word against the flight attendants. Unless she has some sort of proof that she was treated un justly for being black and not a belligerent human being, which she sounds like she is.

And the other people on the plane?
Posted on 3/26/16 at 8:36 pm to Easy
You think other people on that plane would go to a civil court for someone they don't know

While speaking with the woman next to me about my concernsI was *interrupted* by FA and asked "Are you going to be a problem?" @AmericanAir
Look at the pic of this woman. Maybe the FA was concerned she would freak out when she found out they don't give out free snacks anymore?

No. But I figure they might be pretty easily deposed. Can it work like that in a big case?

You can't even fire people anymore for being a bad employee. Race card always comes up.

I've seen similar on tv court reality shows. They work there.
