Not my parent but I did tell my mother in law one night after a crawfish boil and drinking that the first time she pisses her pants im putting her in a nursing home. I was joking of course and others laughed. took about 7-8 years for her to get over it ( not exaggerating)

my parents were in town for my very very VERY ugly divorce. because the ex was a psycho i had to tell them all the stories she was going to tell the judge in court.

she got caught perjuring herself and then got caught with drugs in her system during a court-ordered drug test (for both of us) during the hearing.

we were handcuffed and led to drug testing (this is how they secure chain of custody) at my attorney's request because he knew what would be found in her system.

all in all an ugly divorce is the most embarrassing thing an adult can go through..and the proceedings are on public record afterward.

When I was 4 or 5, I supposedly told my mother in front of her friends that I had just seen and talked with "Mary the Blessed Mother" in the backyard.
