I wish I would have known before moving here several years ago. I blame the Walmart.

Population Density (The lower the worse)

At first, that confused me as well but I assume that the lesser the density, the lesser the available services (i.e. high speed internet), available shopping options, available entertainment options, further away from emergency health care, etc.

At least that is my take on it....

Eh, the trash have always lived there, but usually stuck to bohnings. I used to live on NW Railroad ave and never had any problems. Just don't make the trek down N 11th st. as a shortcut to Range. Legit scary place at night.

This. Ville Platte has one decent road to live on. Everywhere else is sketchy as frick.

Is it true most folks from Ville Platte are pretty cool?

Yes siiiir, we sure are. Idu how VP is so high on this list. It's a small town with a great Catholic school, 3 plants that pay descent, and not much crime. There's not much to offer for entertainment outside of hunting and fishing.

Rouses has been my go-to place since they came in and it's closer to me. I only go to the Walmart here if I absolutely have to.

I bet if Arden Wells got elected to <Insert office here> , we wouldn't be in the top ten.

If they are just talking about inside the city limits of these towns then Ferriday is for sure #1 and all those little delta towns should be on the list. Outside these towns on the oxbow lakes or a big piece of land is awesome but the actual towns are shite holes.

Ride bikes, go to gym, take kids to sporting events at the sports complex, eat, have community crawfish boil. Can always drive 15 minutes to Lafayette for anything else, but get to return to a town with a avg household income in the six figures when done.
