re: Texas man kills drunk driver that killed his sons

The Dad committed premeditated murder. He'll rot in jail.

You may laugh at the Lord, but your willingness to take another's life indicates that, while you may be able to care for your lawn, you are not taking care of your soul. I hope that you learn of His grace.

re: Texas man kills drunk driver that killed his sons
I have driven drunk a lot when I was younger. I actually bragged about being a good drunk driver. When you are young, you think that you are invincible. If I didn't have a kid now, I would definitely be on the "the dad is a murderer, and you can't take the law into your own hands" bandwagon.

Its hypocritical, but if I witnessed my kid die at the hands of a drunk driver, I would hope that I had enough sense at that time to make his death look like it happened in the accident. I would kill that person on the spot without the slightest hesitation. If I were on the jury, I would be very sympathetic to the father.

This is a terrible situation for all involved. However, as long as our court systems continues to not imposed more severe consequences to push those drinking and driving nothing will ever change.

Take a look at this weeks court cases in the Denham Springs News.

They collected almost 27,000 dollars in fines plus the addition of court cost and every single person got a SUSPENDED SENTENCE, Most of the fines were $598 plus the court cost.

There is no consequeces for driving while drunk because $598 dollars and court cost is not really that much money to have to pay for drinking and driving. IMO the court system is loves getting paid the fine money and court cost, but could give a darm if these people will get back on the streets and possibly hurt or kill an innocent person.

I've been in those shoes, and I've thought about it real hard.

You can not just go around shooting people

Especially someone who was probably helpless and/or unconscious. Regardless of provocation, I don't think I could ever execute someone in cold blood like this guy did.

Trust me. Rational thought is weakest at times such as that.

Good for him.Give him a cookie and let him go.Eye for an eye.

eta: I believe deeply in the Power of God's Grace. It transformed me and it really changed the way I think and live today. But I also feel deeply about protecting my family and if something like that happened I might do the same. And I really don't think God would mind.

Belief in the power of God's grace and belief in eye for an eye are mutually exclusive.

You're right of course. But I'm very human.I posted that while thinking about that man's sons being killed. So my 1st thought was revenge.I really don't want to think about what I would do.I probably need to Pray about it.
