re: Texas man kills drunk driver that killed his sons

quote:

My point is that you and Rickety acting like the father is a thug POS is wrong.

I don't know if he is a thug, but on the spectrum of moral culpability intentionally killing someone is worse than an unintentional killing resulting from a car accident.

Most of y'all defending this dead drunk pos must be 22/23 or younger and think DUI is cool thing to do. Killing somebody with a vehicle while drunk is no different than killing somebody with a gun while drunk. You know the risks and turn both into deadly weapons as soon as you get in and turn the keys or pick up and load with bullets. Only difference is how pathetic the DUI laws are and most of the time most get off with slap on the wrist.

We're defending his wrongful death, not his drunk driving you dumb ass.

That's an argument for the court room.

But a 5-10 minute walk is enough time to become rational after seeing your 2 children killed?

Agreed. As some have said, I think he knew exactly what he was doing and chose to do it anyway. As a result, he will have to deal with the consequences of his choice.

You must not have kids. Drive drunk and kill one of mine ad see what happens a-hole. I may not shoot your ass, because 2 wrongs don't make a right, but I pretty sure that if I could get my hands on you I may do enough harm to put life in question. You have no right to kill my family because you are too stupid to stay off the damn road when you are drunk

Was he aware that there would be consequences? Obviously if he hid the gun. I would call him sane

Upset huh?

Do you have kids?

I wish I could have just said "dad's upset guys, give him a minute" after my brother was killed.

That still doesn't make it ok to.murder someone. Sorry for your family's loss, but it doesn't give you a get out of jail free card.

I would call that realizing you just shot a man in the head.

I think you're misunderstanding "temporary insanity". You can't just kill someone because you're really mad and then claim no culpability because you're mad. He walked to the house for a reason, to grab his gun. He walked back to the wreck for a reason, to shoot the driver. He also hid the gun for a reason, because he knew he should not have killed the driver.

He almost certainly knew what he was doing and was in his right mind when he did it, as evidenced by his hiding of the gun.

re: Texas man kills drunk driver that killed his sons
I'd have killed the POS drunk driver as slowly and with as much pain as possible. I'd have no problem with going to prison or even being put on death row. But first I would make sure there was the reckoning of him dying by my hand and in his last moments knowing why his death had come and why it was so terrible.

Again, I don't think he's exempt either. But I also don't think this crime is worthy of a life sentence, which is what I assume the prosecution would be going after.

eta: shit, this is Texas. The man DEFINITELY doesn't deserve the death penalty.

And this is what it all boils down to, and is the reason why the dad is going to jail
