I ate dimsum in Indonesia once with a Muslim. He wouldn't eat pork but had no issues chowing down on chicken feet. I think their religion needs a lot of updating, including the no pork restriction.

Are chicken feet prohibited? I have no idea but a quick wiki check indicates they're fine.

Halal is very similar to kosher although they aren't quite the same. For example, to be kosher the food must be certified as such by a rabbi specially trained to do such things, so halal is not necessarily kosher but kosher is generally halal b/c the Muslims don't require direct clerical approval.

I feel bad for them. A life without sausage and bacon isn't worth living.

This has never occurred to me, but I'm definitely doing this from now on whenever I see an opportunity. From now until I die.
