Anyone done any work there?

Decent hotels to stay at? Places to eat? Things to do in the area?

TIA

I had a friend that worked for Chevron Phillips in Sweeny. He hates that city with a passion. Always complained that it was a shithole with no good food or attractive women.

He's in Saudi now and a lot happier than he ever was in Sweeny.

Theres nothing there... nothing but the plant. You need to go to bay city or lake jackson to get to civilization. Good luck !

I have had possible job leads in that area. I researched it and said hell no.

Kind of reminds me of the area down by Freeport with lots of plants and mostly shitty restaurants and stuff in the area if I remember correctly.

It's my hometown but I haven't been there in about 8 years. It has about 3500 people and is not located on a major highway so that should tell you all you need to know about hotels, places to eat, etc.

Nothing in Sweeny except the plant. Some small hotels in Van Vleck, Bay City, etc. did a TA there a couple years ago at P66. Stayed at a trailer park, so don't recall much about hotels. Town sucks, I do remember that.
