I have worked for 7+ years in the advanced cancer diagnostics field. I cover 7 states and go into discuss these products with accounts when there are sales opportunities. I have been to NOLA multiple times, Shreveport a couple times and even Hattiesburg. I have never had any opportunities with any of the medical centers etc in the BR area.

What is the standing of BR as a place to get treated for cancer? Do people drive to NOLA instead? Trying to understand why a city the size of BR is not brimming with opportunity.

There are a shitload of doctor complexes and hospitals in Baton Rouge. You can expand out towards the Northshore. As far as cancer treatment, there is Mary Bird Perkins.

For adults you're going to Mary Bird Perkins or to Houston for MD Anderson.

Children use the St. Jude satellite facility, but go to Memphis frequently.

Pennington has a cancer center at BR General. Recently I read on the Advocate that they were expanding it.

It is. Most local get local treatment. All are connected to MD Anderson. BR has a very good medical environment.

Many hospitals have been fighting for the MD Anderson partnership, that is good to hear for BR.

Patients certainly travel for treatment, but to your point most locals want local treatment.

I am starting to think the account manager is not finding these opportunities or the territory is dominated by a competitor. Both happen.

We could only hope. Unfortunately the ER fits that bill.
