LSU had free speech ally
Still does, which illustrates the point: You can't say whatever you want wherever you want on LSU's campus. You have to be in the "free speech zone." Hence, there is no general right to free speech at LSU or any other public university in the United States of America.

Since when can a college make somebody do community service?
Posted on 8/4/15 at 9:31 am to Tunasntigers92
The kid is an idiot but ideally the school shouldn't be involved.

Pot meet kettle. This is all SJW's do. The hypocrisy of the left is suffocating.

It's a private school brah. They can do pretty much whatever they want.

You're incredibly predictable.
This is a story about an institution silencing and punishing a member for nothing more than his views and speech. Views and speech, which by the way, did not happen under that institute's watch or on its grounds. It's not crazy to call them fascists.
Further, as I drew a comparison and laid down why I said it rather than engage me or discuss it you chose to again try and silence my expression.

Don't conservatives
This is not a poltical discussion and I won't let you try and trap or generalize me based on a perceived party or ideological affiliation.

The kid clearly lost his privilege during the back and forth he had with the university
His side of the story is that there wasnt much of a back and forth.
quote:
he had an opportunity to make things right but he chose to be a martyr.
Good for him. He has a backbone. He's standing up for what he believes in.

He doesn't get his way just because he wants. Speech has consequences. Lesson learned
First of all, this quote is shite. He doesn't get his way just because he wants? You could apply that logic to any situation ever.
That's probably the same thing whites said about protesting blacks in the 60s. You make me sick, fascist.
As I said, TCU may have had the right to suspend and frick over a student for expressing his opinions. They deserve backlash for being pieces of shite.

You never took any classes that had open debate or discussions? How sad. I took many classes where people were free to voice their opinions. IMO that is a very important aspect of college, it allows you to hear other viewpoints and grow as an individual. These days the SJW's want everybody to stay in their own personalized anti-triggered bubble.

Yeah, that's kind of how I see it. Like BYU or ND booting a kid for premarital sex or something. I would be way more outraged to see this from a public school. I still think the discipline on those racist OU dipshites was a bit much.

Isn't TCU a private school? They can kick you out or suspend you for whatever they want.

bullshite. You can have all the freedom of expression you want as long as it fits into academias echo chamber
No shite dude. That still isn't absolute freedom of expression. If you think "freedom of expression" = sectioning off a small area of campus for people to say what they want, then you are truly lost.

In the end, it's all about what the student code that he agreed to (or whatever they call it) says.

A lot of you fricks can't wait to give up your freedoms.
And some of you wonder why you have trouble gathering support for your views.
As has been stated many times in this thread already, TCU is a private institution, and as such, they are free to do as they please with regards to ignorant students.
This thread should serve as a reminder that spewing your political bullshite all over social media should be avoided, and that goes for both sides of the aisle.
