Got a tattoo about 4 months ago and I'm now getting a rash on the ink. Been about two weeks since it started. Thoughts on why this is?

OT Notes:
1. tattoos are trashy
2. my mom is trashy
3. trashy.

Sounds like it's infected

When I got my sleeve tattoo the same thing happened. I just used a cream but I forget the name

That's fresh ink. This tattoo is well and healed. And my rash is nothing like that.

Does not sound like an infection if the tattoo is 4 months old. The window of a possible infection is in the first week or so while it's healing.

Do you have eczema? I sometimes get a rash on my tattoos after they heal and the weather changes. Put some gold bond cream on it.

I doubt it's an infection from the tatto itself. Being four months old, it healed long ago. If it was going to get infected, that would have happened while it was healing.

Fad? Craze?

I would call tight pants a fad.
Women's bobbed haircuts in the 1920's a craze.

Tattoos have been around for long time.
Like thousands of years long.

Some people mount immune responses to tattoo ink. Most commonly they react to red ink for some reason. A dermatologist should be able to help you out.
