Switched to a strong golf grip; Made all the difference in the world.

I had a pretty weak golf grip, most of my left hand was rotated toward the left of the grip. I could barely see any knuckles. I have had this grip since I started playing 15 years ago.
Been having a lot of inconsistent shots lately and I switched to a strong grip for the back 9 Saturday and the game changed. Hit almost every fairway, chipping and pitching was better and crisper. Went to the range yesterday and it was one of the better range sessions I have had in a long time.
I've always read the grip was extremely important, but I never actually tried to change mine till this weekend. Strong grip relies less on timing and closes the face, its a good grip for someone with a lot of body rotation while swinging. Only problem is you can hook the shite out of it if you stop rotating.
Anyone else have a strong grip?
How do you grip the club?
Has anyone here ever changed their golf grip to great success?
I basically can see 3 knuckles now with the left hand and right hand is more under the club.
Anyone struggling, check out your grip and make sure it matches your swing.
I'm willing to bet most high handicap golfers have a shitty grip and a change could help them immensely.
The grip baws, get a good one.

I can see people using a neutral grip but who the hell does the weak? Seems like a recipe for a slice.

Exactly.
It was something I did without realizing it. I've been tinkering with all kinds of shite and never looked at the grip.
Guess it shows the importance of a golf lesson, the pro probably would have immediately pointed this out.

People who don't know they have a weak grip.

Guaranteed people who shoot in the high 90's, 100's have a bad grip.

When I first started taking lessons I was duck hooking almost every shot, so I switched to a much weaker grip and it has helped tremendously.

This is a great point, a weak grip probably matches what you do through the ball.
Its opposite for me.

I've always had a strong grip and have tried to correct it to an extent over the years and always have gone back. Funny how there used to be one grip and now it is ok to go strong.
Moe Norman was the first one to really use a strong grip to match a great game, if you don't know the name look him up.
I have a lot of the same philosophies about the game that Norman had, put the club on the ball squarely, who gives a shite how you get there. I have a shortened swing to keep it more consistent. I'm not nearly as wide a stance as he had and not nearly as quick of a tempo.

I consider mine neutral, but more towards the strong side than the picture.

Tried the strong grip. But I had a tendency to snap-hook later in the round. I wish I could have kept that rotation quiet through the back 9. Went back to neutral.

My driver draws about 40 yards so yes, I have a strong grip.
I played a fade for years but couldn't get the distance I wanted.
A fade is more accurate though and most pros play this ball flight

Neutral grip. My issue was primarily stance and my swing plane. While my club face would be in perfect level, the path my club head followed created a nasty slice because I'd strike the ball bear the tip of the driver. While my ball may (MAY) have traveled 200 from the tee box, it was 150 off to the left, usually in a backyard or the woods.
Once I corrected my plane, I can hit them straight most of the time, with an occasional hook or just straight pull.

ha, I'm in the process of playing with my grip all the time to see what works. Sometimes I'll think I have it figured out at the range, then get to the course and I can't find a fairway to save my life. I need to just stick with one but I sorta enjoy the tinkering in a masochistic way.

Used to leave the club face open at impact, so I was pushing and/or fading everything right. Couldn't figure it out. Someone told me to switch to a strong grip. Hit a lot more fairways and greens now.

This is what I need to end.
I'm constantly tinkering with stuff.
I want to just play the game.
I think fixing my grip is a big piece of that puzzle.
