Would you get more work done if you were given a six hour work day than an 8, 10, or 12?

From experience, I did not find it more inspiring to work harder during the day when I was given a deal to have an extra responsibility while having the ability to leave an hour early. In fact, if anything, knowing that I could leave an hour early made me feel more obligated to leave right on the dot as it was my reward for being expected to get more done in 7 hours than 8.

However, it would probably be a whole different deal if everyone went home after 6 hours instead of just one being given a privilege for doing something extra.

I work with frickers from Switzerland and they're on holiday every other week.

We can never get anything done.

That's just what we need.. Even shorter work days from them.

People would be paid far less if it happened here.

I was just reading about this on Reddit...

I think it's good. I didn't realize until I was working in a different country (Spain) how much Americans work themselves to death.

But we also have a higher standard of living. We work harder because we want more money to have luxuries most of the world doesn't even dream of.

No link but I'm pretty sure Sweden has a better standard of living than Murica.

The definition of work for many varys. Americans are paid and at work for a lot of hours, but it doesn't mean they are working.

I could most certainly get all my work done in a 30 hour work week
