Decrease engine thrust on the other engine. Possibly adjust rudder trim to combat the yaw also.

I mean, IN your estimation how lucky were they that this wasn't way worse in terms of damage to key parts of the plane? (I.e. stabilizers, etc.)

Assume a ticket to Orlando from Pensacola was there was well.

Some of the most ignorant people I know are scared to fly and say it's not as safe as driving.
Well, after my question to you, I may be one of those. Heard this for many years. Is this statistical result a function of miles flown airplanes vs. autos or is it take-offs-landings vs. start-ups-go and stop-n-turn-offs for the same?
Because if it is the latter which I don't think it is, I call BS.
I've never been in a moving accident after 58 yrs of driving with billions of starts-go-turn-off, adinfinitum.
So how do I grade out?

combat the yaw

Yes. And the co pilot would say kaw, I got dat yaw baw.

I think miles is the more accurate measure but I see what you're trying to say
When I'm going down the interstate at 75 and look over and see yaw texting, I realize driving isn't safe anymore

I think it's just based on people. A safe car trip moves 4 people. A safe flight moves 200.

This is why I do not fly......
It's statically safer than driving.
Including this....

Well, that may be, but I'd have to have actual data to put in my spreadsheet to figure it up.
My belief is that a true measure of safeness would be my call. Number of casualties is irrelevant as it pertains to event occurrences. Not sure how the lives lost would shake out though w/o data.

My ex-wife was on this flight. She called me afterwards terrified. I can't imagine.

Do they release the CRV from these situations? Just curious what the conversation is like between the pilots and ATC in Pensacola.

eventually, I would imagine the conversation would sound fairly mundane, unless one or both of the pilots were female
